Starbuck Island Sea Wall

Owner: Luizzi Companies

One of several projects completed on Starbuck Island is a 1,700 foot long sea wall that stands on average 17 feet tall. The project began with the clearing and grading of the East side of the island moving approximately 20,000 yards of dirt to create an access aisle large enough to overlap multiple operations. Those operations consisted of the earth movement, the installation of over 600 30-50 foot timber piles, pre-tying of over 2000 linear feet of rebar mats, pouring of 1700 linear foot of concrete foundation, and the setting of over 4000 Redirock precast blocks. The island was prepared to resist erosion and make way for future use as a walking path and boat docks and the development. The team completed this massive wall project in just 3 months.
